Decision Dynamics - Decision Styles™
To participate in the authorisation course, you are required to have participated in and passed the Business Testing course, module 1, at CfL, or that you have the basic course in tests from Dansk Psykologisk Forlag, SHL or Cubiks.
You get access to use Decision Styles™ by participating in a 2+1-day certification course.
The course provides you with a thorough insight to the concept frame in Decision Styles™, including the validated instruments. You are taught how to present the model, interpret the profiles and
perform feedback conversations. You will also learn how you can use Decision Styles™ in organisations.
Between module 1 and 2, you are required to perform 3 exercise conversations.
Decision Dynamics Decision Styles™ presents different paths to making decisions. It is founded upon two fundamental parameters: the load of information which the individual uses as means to make a decision, and the number of solution options, which the individual wants to work with in the decision process.
Based on this, the tools identify four basic decision styles:
»»Decisive style which is characterised as being efficient and operational
»» Flexible style which is characterised as being pliable and quick
»»Hierarchical style which is characterised as being analytical and long-term
»» Integration style which is characterised as being analytical and pliable.
Decision Styles™ distinguishes between a reflexive, external style and a more spontaneous, internal style.
All four styles have special qualities in connection with different situations, types of tasks and management levels.
Decision Styles™ consists of two parts:
A questionnaire with 60 questions and a case study with 45 questions, which both identify the external style on each of the four basic patterns.
How to use it
The tool is used to provide the individual with insight to his/her own decision patterns. The result will be used in launching a dialogue with the individuals or groups with the purpose of developing their approach to doing their assignments and supporting efficiency and appropriate problem solutions.
Thus, Decision Styles™ has the advantage of providing managers and management groups with the opportunity to develop – not the least in connection with transferring from one organisation level
The tool may also be used in recruitment situations, and it will typically be used together with a personality test as a supplementing and outlining tool.
What is in it for me?
Decision Styles™ is an efficient and precise tool which focuses on decisions and decision-making patterns. Decision Styles™ is a unique instrument which supports the efficiency and quality of the individual and the organisation. Thus, the instrument focuses on more than just action and execution by emphasizing the importance of the approach matching the task and the complexity of the issue.
